Summary:
Got this for $100 at Fry's, the cheapest shuttle barebone they had. I use it as a media center and local server. It has one PCI slot, which I have a TV capture card in.
I had no trouble setting it up, running it with a 2.8GHz E7400, 4GB DDR2, but a slow IDE HD.
It does its job near perfectly, it runs MythTV and is hooked up to a HDTV. Its running Ubuntu, runs MythTV front end and back end, MySQL server, a PgSQL server, a Torrent (Transmission-Daemon) server, samba server, and an Apache server all without breakin a sweat. Mind you, all these are for my local network and extremely low volume, but it does these (necessary) jobs very well at low (~$325) cost.
The only negative is that it doesn't have the graphical power to output 1080p video. It does 720p fine (5-6000Kb/s) but once the resolution goes up to 1080p, around 9000kb/s, the video lags. Its not an utter disappointment, and if you want one that plays 1080p video then spend another $100 and get a shuttle box with a nvidia gpu.
Pros:
cheap, small
Cons:
cant play 1080p video, no CD drive bay makes installing a pain
