As stated earlier, Transcend's PC4000 uses timings of 3-4-4-8 and runs at a stock 250 MHz (500 MHz DDR). I installed this memory in our ABIT IC7-MAX3 with a Pentium 4 2.4c. The board and the processor are both excellent overclockers. I have been able to push the CPU past 3.0 GHz from its stock 2.4 GHz with this board and Corsair's PC4000.
After installing the memory and inputting 250 MHz FSB and 2.6 VDIMM into the BIOS, I booted into Windows XP with a solid 3.0 GHz. I was able to push the memory to 256 MHz (512 MHz DDR) with a memory voltage of 2.8v. This is 1 MHz more than I was able to overclock Corsair's PC4000 (2 MHz DDR). This brought our 2.4c up to 3.072 GHz.
Test System
The memory was tested in an ABIT IC7-MAX3, which utilizes Intel's 875P chipset, and a Pentium 4 2.4c. I find this motherboard to be an excellent overclocker which has allowed me to easily bring a 2.4c to 3.0 GHz. Two 256 MB sticks of Transcend's PC4000 were tested in dual channel against two 256 MB sticks of Corsair's PC4000. The FSB/RAM was at a 1:1 ratio during testing and both brands of memory were using stock timings of 3-4-4-8.
