This of course should be no surprise, but the Abit IC7-Max3 uses a Phoenix-Award BIOS. Menu options might be in a different order, but the options should be pretty familiar by now.
SoftMenu is Abit's term for jumperless system configuration and it is in this menu that you will find options for CPU speed, voltages and other overclocking options. The FSB speed can be keyed in and is adjustable in 1 MHz increments. DIMM:CPU ratio and CPU/AGP/PCI ratios are adjustable or can be locked. CPU voltage is adjustable in 0.025v increments and DIMM voltage is adjustable in 0.05v or 0.1v increments. AGP voltage is also adjustable in 0.05v increments.
The Standard CMOS Features menu is just that, standard. You can set system time, adjust IDE and floppy device properties and view reported memory size.
Advanced BIOS Features allows you to choose boot priority and whether or not to enable HyperThreading technology.
Advanced Chipset Features gives you control over DIMM timings and contains options for AGP performance.
The Integrated Peripherals menu contains the submenus for enabling/disabling the!integrated peripherals!yah. OnChip refers to those devices controlled by the Intel north and south bridges.
Power Management Setup has options for ACPI suspend state and wake-up events. Interestingly there is even an option to control the thermal throttling rate in case your processor gets a little toasty; not that I've ever run an underpowered cooling fan on any of my CPUs, nope, never.
PnP/PCI Configurations is rather boring unless you are a true control freak and absolutely must control every minutiae of system performance.
The PC Health Status gives you the status of the various temperature, voltage and fan speed monitors on the board.
