Introduction
Soyo has a product line including several lines of motherboards, peripherals, wireless networking, multimedia, and most recently, power supplies. Of all these products, Soyo is probably known best by their line of motherboards such as the Dragon and Dragon 2 series. However, today we will be looking at Soyo's 400W Raptor SY-PS400 Adjustable Switching Power Supply.
What sets the Raptor apart from the other power supplies on the market is the front bay device which allows you to monitor and adjust the 5.0V and 3.3V rails. The way this works is that on the front of the bay device there are two knobs, or potentiometers (pots), that are used to adjust the voltage. There is also a LCD display on the bay device which allows you to monitor the 5.0V and 3.3V rails. While this isn't a totally new concept, it is a unique approach. But are adjustable pots really all that useful, or are they just a marketing gimmick? You'll have to read on to find out.

I have this power supply in my computer temporarily. Works great but a little loud for my tastes. The Voltage display is nice, and the bay doesn't really bother me since I have plenty of room for it right now. However, the computer I am using right now is just a temp while I work on my mod. Then I'm switching over to a 400W Zalman.
