Thanks to Newegg for supplying the Sapphire X700 Pro 128MB for testing.
Doom 3
Doom 3 offers the ability to record and play back demos through the in-game console. We recorded a rather lengthy demo which takes place during and after the "Reactor Core." The demo includes open spaces with catwalks as well as narrow passageways, dark corridors and plenty of baddies for the fraggin'! Fights ranged from a single Pinky Demon, Imp or Revenant to multiple Imps, Lost Souls, Grunts and Cacodemons. You may download the timedemo here.
The in-game graphical settings were set to "High Quality." Anti-Aliasing and Anisotropic Filtering were controlled through Windows and not from within the game. The recorded demo was played back as a time-demo which runs through the demo as fast as possible and spits out the average FPS. For each test, the time-demo was run three times and the results were averaged.

From the graphs you can see that the X600 XT can only handle a low resolution in Doom3 with AA and AF disabled. The X700 Pro, and especially the 6600 GT, perform quite well even with 4xAA/8xAF at 1024x768 and are capable of using a little higher resolutions.
