Nikon

Nikon wasn't really showing anything new, but they did have a few cool products which I haven't seen before and I thought were worth a look. They had their point-n-shoots, prosumers and digital SLRs. Most interesting was their digital SLR which had a wireless G base attached to it. This optional accessory allows you to send pictures directly to the computer over your wireless network, and even allows you to control every function of the camera from the PC. Even the hotshoe flashes can operate wirelessly.

Konica Minolta

I was really excited about some of the cameras that Konica Minolta was showing off at their table. Some of their newer cameras utilize image stabilization technology, which isn't exactly new, but it's not exactly like the image stabilization you will see on other cameras. Rather than using a floating lens to compensate for camera-shake, they have integrated image stabilization technology into the body of the camera. So what you ask? Well, let me explain: This is most important on their digital SLRs because it eliminates the need to purchase special IS lenses for the camera. Every lens that you use will essentially be an IS lens thanks to this technology. This could save you a considerable amount of money if you're a serious photographer, and that can't be a bad thing. I have a feeling that we will see some of the competition using some similar technology soon.
