Introduction

It has been a year since our first trip to Las Vegas for the 2004 Consumer Electronics Showcase (CES). There have been a number of technological advances in 2004, and 2005 looks to be even more promising. With so much to look forward to, what better way to kick-start the New Year than drowning in an ocean of bleeding-edge technology in the city of sin? We thought so too.

When we landed in Las Vegas, we had to quickly get situated in our hotel and run on over to a pre-CES press event, the Pepcom Digital Experience. Pepcom is set up similar to the actual CES show floor, but crams many of the top companies into the Bellagio Grand Ballroom and is directly catered to the press. We were able to get a close look at the latest gadgets from the top companies without having to swim through thousands of booths and people.
