Conclusion

In short...WOW. Logitech has done it again. They have taken their Z-680s and pumped them full of aural steroids while updating their looks and features. A perfect evolution. For music, movies and games these speakers are excellent.

There are very few low points to discuss with this product. I found one or two random songs lacking in the mid-range department. However those instances occurred so infrequently that I can't even really say with certainty it was the speakers' fault. The bulky sub might make it difficult to hike up a flight of stairs!but the workout would be worth it. Movies only get better when heard over the Z-5500s. For the surround sound aficionados out there, these speakers will beckon to you: "Play the Matrix over us...invest in THX certified movies."

I must admit, I am in love with these speakers. I'm not talking metaphorically here, I've purchased an engagement ring and I'm headed to Vegas as I type this. Alright, seriously, I loved them and so should most anyone else who appreciates loud, clear and distortion-free music and movies. True, the price may be a bit on the high side for computer speakers, but these are no ordinary computer speakers. For a home media PC you won't be disappointed in the money well spent. You may now kiss the speakers.

Kurtis' Note:

As an owner of the Z-680s, I would like to interject a little of my own opinion into this review. As Brad has said (over and over), the Z-5500s sound great, look great, and make some nice improvements over the Z-680s. What I would like to stress, however, is that for those of you who already own the Z-680s, there isn't really any reason to upgrade to the Z-5500s. Now, for everybody else, what the hell are you waiting for?

Are the satelite speakers wall mountable?

Thanks.

Why does this Z-5500 have unattached speaker cables and the one they are selling on Newegg doesn't? Can someone tell me where I can get this set instead?

Also, with every other review I've read:
http://reviews.cnet.com/Logitech_Z_5500_Digital/45...
http://www.thetechzone.com/?m=show&id=141
http://www.tweaknews.net/reviews/z5500/
http://www.xtremeresources.com/ modules.php?op=modload&name=Re views&file=index&req=showconte nt&id=74

the Z-5500 is marked down due to attached cables.
