Introduction
iPods continue to dominate the personal music player market. I must confess that I'm not a huge fan of the iPod. To me, there are so many other devices out there that offer just as many, if not more, features at a better price. But none of the competitors' products have been so immensely popular as to spawn an explosion of after-market products. This is where the iPod rules the market. Apple's little musical wonder has inspired car adapters, FM transmitter and speakers!all clad in that iconic pearly white plastic. I wonder how much smooth white plastic has been consumed since the iPod's inception. Some fashion designers even integrate pockets specially designed around the iPod into their designs.
JBL has thrown their hat into the iPod after-market game. The JBL On Stage is a compact external speaker system that is fully compatible with the iPod as well as pretty much every other portable music player. I'm sure most everyone is familiar with JBL. They've been around since the "40s in some version or another. And, from my experience, most of their products are quality sound components. Having said that, you're probably figuring I am expecting big things from JBL's On Stage speaker system. Well, you're wrong. I am remaining completely impartial, I'm not that biased! Well, except for that whole not liking the iPod thing. I'm a little biased then!just read the review and get off my back!
