Fatal1ty / Creative / Zalman

Creative had a fairly large booth that revolved around their new Fatal1ty X-Fi sound card. There were also some Zalman products around the edge of the Creative booth that shared the Fatal1ty moniker. Zalman had an aluminum case as well as a couple heatsinks under the Fatal1ty name. They looked exactly like Zalman's current products, but I believe they had red LEDs adding to the awesome gaming goodness! or something!

Razer's Booth

There were a couple different sponsors at QuakeCon with booths showing off their latest products, kind of like a mini showfloor. Nothing too big, but there were a few things worth mentioning. Razer, maker of the popular Boomslang and Diamondback gaming mice had a booth and was showing off their new Copperhead 2000 dpi laser mouse. The Copperhead looks very similar to the Diamondback! at least it did in the dark booth. The most notable physical characteristics of this mouse is the illuminated blue stripes down the sides, mouse wheel and Razer logo. We did get a chance to play around with the mouse a bit, but didn't have the ability to do any gaming. From my limited use, the Copperhead feels nice and light, and conforms well to my hand. One thing I like about the mouse is it lacks the GIANT mouse buttons previously featured on the Boomslang. We may be getting our hands on one of these babies to review in the coming weeks, so keep an eye out for it.

NVIDIA's Booth

NVIDIA's booth at QuakeCon was fairly large. They had a section showing off Dell laptops built with NVIDIA's hardware as well as other Dell systems that had playable versions of new games and demos such as Stubbs the Zombie, Panzer Elite Action and around 20 Dell SLi 16x computers with an early demo of Quake 4 multiplayer. NVIDIA also had a wall spouting "The Power of 3' which is indeed SLi + SM3.0 + HDR. We had a meeting early that morning with one of the NVIDIA representatives and when we asked about "The Power of 3,' he started to laugh and said that it was just a marketing campaign to build hype and create speculation. When we probed a bit further and asked why they didn't start the campaigh much earlier (these 3 features aren't exactly new for NVIDIA), he laughed again and confessed that they just suddenly thought of it... ha. So, it was just as we had predicted in our "The Power of 3" article. As for anything NVIDIA was actually unveiling, it was just the GeForce 7800 GT which you can check out in our preview.

We took a few movies of some of the games and demos that were playing:

NVIDIA Tech Demo (1.55 MB)
Quake 4 Trailer (9.28 MB)
Stubbs the Zombie Gameplay Movie 1 (1.66 MB)
Stubbs the Zombie Gameplay Movie 2 (1.06 MB)

"We had to show pictures and movies of it because if WE had to see it, YOU have to see it. We wanted to show how disappointing the NVIDIA show was... I think we made our point."

You homophobes never cease to amaze me. What's the problem, you can't look at another guy with his shirt off? "More_like_gaycon" is the name of the video. Insecurity at its best! Lol you must also be the same people that showers with blinders and gloves so you don't have to look at or touch yourself. The dude won a $4000 PC... it's not like he was stripping for guys or anything! He was dancing for hot chicks! Get over yourselves!

Pardon me for my knee-jerk reaction. *blush* 'Scuse me while I go hide in the corner and look ashamed...
