NVIDIA's "Special Presentation'

NVIDIA was supposed to have a 45 minute "Special Presentation' which one would think would be the unveiling of the 7800 GT. Following the presentation, there was supposed to be a 30 minute "What would you do! ?' contest event. Even though we already knew about the 7800 GT and have posted our preview of it, we thought it would be a good idea to attend NVIDIA's event anyway. Boy were we wrong.

NVIDIA's "Special Presentation' started innocently enough, with giant screens displaying live gameplay from Quake 4 followed by representatives from NVIDIA and id Software talking a bit about this year's QuakeCon. However, instead of talking about the current state of graphics technology or NVIDIA's new 7800 GT, they immediately went into the "What would you do! ?' contests with the help of several QuakeCon girls in interestingly tight clothing.

I don't really know how to explain what happened, but the contests ended up taking an entire two and a half hours with men dancing shirtless attempting to volunteer for the contests! and the people who were picked for the contests ended up having to shave their heads, stuff their mouths with marshmallows and peanut butter, eat worms and raw fish milkshakes, shave their legs while in a skirt and even strip for the QuakeCon girls! Yes, there were hot QuakeCon women there, but no! they weren't the ones stripping for the audience of male gamers, it was the male gamers themselves stripping! The entire time I was wondering who planned this mess, what they were thinking, and where I could find an electrical socket to jam my fingers into to temporarily draw me away from my confusion with the situation.

We went into NVIDIA's event looking for some sort of decent product coverage and all we got was a wasted and rather confusing evening. NVIDIA has done a great job with the new generation of graphics cards and making sure they are immediately available for purchase, but from what we have seen so far, NVIDIA's marketing team has done, shall I say, a less than bang-up-job at QuakeCon thus far. I am honestly not sure if they even had a plan for the evening - if even a basic outline for what was going to happen.

i am so glad there were no pics of kurtis and brian up there getting naked. its bad enough seeing them next to hot pornstars at the AVN show.

You homophobes never cease to amaze me. What's the problem, you can't look at another guy with his shirt off? "More_like_gaycon" is the name of the video. Insecurity at its best! Lol you must also be the same people that showers with blinders and gloves so you don't have to look at or touch yourself. The dude won a $4000 PC... it's not like he was stripping for guys or anything! He was dancing for hot chicks! Get over yourselves!
