Motorola

Next on our rounds was a visit with Motorola. Their recently announced iRadio service is a new take on subscription music services. Not only will they be offering a mind-blowing 435 commercial-free channels, with a Bluetooth mobile music phone you will be able to save hours of music that can be synched to your car stereo or home system for offline listening. And this subscription service is slated to be very reasonably priced in the neighborhood of $6.99-$7.99 per month. The service will also allow you to search and save music based on artist or genre for later listening. No word on the export options for this service. Our guess is there will be no way to save your downloaded tracks in MP3 format for use on other mobile devices.

Plantronics

Audio headset maker Plantronics treated us to a demonstration of their Bluetooth cell phone headsets. Similar to Logitech's stereo headset and microphone combo, Plantronics' Pulsar 590 will let you listen to stereo tracks on your mobile music phone while with a simple flip off a switch you can answer incoming calls. The Discovery 640 is a small Bluetooth earpiece/mic system that is about the size of an AA battery. Plantronics' clever cylindrical design also includes an innovative AAA battery recharge system as well as a series of adapters that allow users to recharge the miniscule unit via their cell phone charger. On average the Discovery 640 should provide around 15 hours of talk time. The unit is lightweight and even with the AAA charger in place is no larger than a typical fountain pen.

ASUS Computer

We spoke briefly with ASUS about their newest motherboards and laptop PCs. As ASUS continues to branch out from the component market, their newest PCs will feature support for Intel's Viiv technology. Viiv will help to create a central hub for digital media for home users. Also in the works is ASUS's new WL-700gE wireless media storage unit. This unit serves as a storage space for movies and music and can also be programmed to download media even while you computer is off. Coupled with Viiv technology, users will be able to save and view digital content from several locations within their home simultaneously.

As for the Nethrone... I'd be scared that since I attached the monitor that it would fall and knock me in the head killing me instantly! :roll:

Man, that Nethrone looks sweet. Seriously. I'd want to get it more to a sitting-up-straight type orientation, but what's so cool about a desk? It's meant for writing in an accounting ledger under gaslight, not using a schweet laptop or desktop. And besides, it got kurtis a peek at boobies, and I'm all for that.
