Global Cache

Need to integrate your home security, HVAC systems, lighting control and entertainment center? Well, neither do I but if you are a business or home owner with these issues then Global Cache is looking to help you out. Their GC-100 Home Network Adapters are able to chat with and connect various disparate devices via IR, serial or other contact closure signals to an Ethernet based control unit. Once all your gadgets are speaking freely with one another, controlling them is easy through an embedded Web interface. Various high voltage relays can also be integrated to allow the user to control large units such as air conditioners, motors or hot-tub pumps. Now, if only I had all of these things in my house.

HUSH Technologies

Need a quiet HTPC? I mean really quite, with no fans at all. HUSH Technologies has developed an ultra quiet HTPC that can run with no fans while utilizing a full ATX motherboard and AMD or Intel CPU. A fanless video card and HUSH's fanless 240W power supply keeps this aluminum-clad PC completely silent. CPU cooling is achieved via a system of heatpipes that connect directly to the aluminum outer casing acting as one huge, fanless heatsink. With a VFD (vacuum fluorescent display) outputting movie, music or TV channel info you will be set to enjoy your favorite media using Windows Media Edition. Up to 400 GB of storage can be added and there is room enough for a DVD burner, TV/FM tuner, 4 USB 2.0 ports as well as 2 Firewire, 1 headphone and 1 microphone jack. An onboard AC 97 sound chip provides 6 channel audio and an IR remote control directs the entire collection. A mini ITX motherboard configuration is also available!fanless of course.

iTuner

iTuner develops car PC systems. Their VoomPC series are based on VIA mini-ITX motherboards that can control all aspects of your car's entertainment and interactive applications. A 6 channel audio out system will keep you thumping along while you connect to your GPS system to keep you on route. This Linux-ready application can control just about anything you can put in your car, whether it be a 500 Watt amp or hydraulic door lifts. I'm sure you could play solitaire on it as well.

CMWare

If you have a music playing mobile device then CMWare wants to help you connect that networked device to a PC. If you want to access your Rhapsody account through your phone via your PC, CMWare can make it happen. Miss your favorite episode of "Lost"? Connect up to your PC and stream that video to your phone and watch when you feel like it. Or, if Aunt Sally is just aching to see pictures of her newest grand niece, just connect up to your PC from her house and show off pics of junior's first piano recital. Get the idea?
