Conclusion

The Logitech G15 keyboard is a solid product. Logitech didn't miss anything on the basic keyboard functionality when they added all the extras. The LCD screen can be very useful for the games that are supported, in addition to just having it around while you do stuff like type up reviews of new hardware, or write software and documentation. The multimedia keys are useful when you are playing a game and you have some music in the background and you cant or don't want to ALT-Tab out to the desktop to go to the next song or adjust the volume.

The macro keys cannot only be assigned to key combinations for games, but for regular windows activities as well. You can use a combination of windows application shortcut keys and the "G Keys" to have the keys start applications or perform repetitive commands like resizing images.

The LCD in the keyboard is the centerpiece of the entire unit. The openness of Logitech and the community that has formed around the keyboard are very unique for this type of device. From displaying what music you're playing, to system performance and in-game information - even a clock with date and time, this LCD is the first wave in mainstream auxiliary display devices. Competition is forcing companies to look for new and different ways to make their products stand out in the marketplace. As modding turns mainstream and prices of LCD components come down, look out for auxiliary display devices show up in all sorts of unexpected places.

After using this device for over a month, I've been very happy with both the quality of the product Logitech has delivered as well as the features provided. While the selection of games with LCD applets is limited now, Logitech offers a list of current and future games on their website, and the community is not far behind in helping them out. I can definitely say that I'd recommend this keyboard for enthusiasts and gamers.
