The Card

The heatsink is a rather uncomplicated, but cool looking, single slot solution which covers up the GPU as well as the 256MB of GDDR3 on the front of the card. This is ATI's reference cooler, mind you, and they won't be producing any of these cards, so the design on the heatsink, and the heatsink itself, might be different on retail boards.

On the edge of the card you will notice that there is a 6-pin PCI-Express auxiliary power connector - something you'll see on all the X1800 cards, and pretty much any other high-end card on the market. The outputs on the card are two dual-link DVIs and a TVo connection. There isn't much to say about the back side of the card - a retention bracket and a sticker, exciting. Since ATI won't be producing these cards, I can't say what the bundle will be as it will be dependent upon each board partner.

We'd like to thank Directron.com for donating the ASUS A8N-SLI Premium Socket 939 Motherboard which we used for testing.
