Conclusion
After having spent some time with the iPod nano, it's easy to see why they're so popular. Apple has coupled good sound quality with an intuitive and stylish design in a reasonably priced portable media device that has set the standard in terms of overall usability. There are definitely some features I would've liked to see included in the nano out of the box, however. The inclusion of a built-in radio tuner is probably the biggest omission, next to the lack of a better case. The included "pocket" case does protect the nano to a degree, but it does so at the cost of usability since it covers the screen and the controls. The inclusion of a nano armband would've provided a lot more utility right out of the box. Of course, you can get the armband directly from Apple for $29, as well as replacement pair of earbuds that come with a wired radio remote for $49. With this in mind, I would definitely consider the cost of any important accessories before making a purchase decision on the nano.
Overall, the nano is a great product for just about anyone interested in having a quality music listening experience on the go. The nano has a lot to offer right out of the box and due to its popularity, a lot of worthwhile accessories are available to make it an even better product if you're willing to spend the extra money. We've been so impressed by the iPod nano that we feel it deserves the Editor's Choice award.
