Introduction
Normally with my reviews I like to start out with the box, and this one is no different! This package came from Sweden in a plain white padded envelope, isn't dat vierd? When I opened the package I found inside SpeedUpMyPC and WinBackUp. WinBackUp will be reviewed seperately, back to SpeedUpMyPC... SpeedUpMyPC comes in an attractive cd case with its features listed off on the back with a couple of pictures of the program in action. As you will soon notice, software reviews are very different from hardware reviews, and most of the review will be made up of pictures. Are you ready?? Let's go!

Testing
To test this software I benchmarked my system with and without SpeedUpMyPC using PCMark2002 and an online bandiwidth test. PCMark2002 showed a decrease in performance in all areas while SpeedUpMyPC was running. The Bandwidth test my ISP provides @ www.satx.rr.com showed an extra 3K bytes / second increase with SpeedUpMyPC running.

A Few Words...
While using this program I did not realize any noticeable speed change. The program's name implies that it will speed up my PC, but benchmarking showed that it actually slowed down my PC. In fact I did not find any features in this program that could not be obtained through free applications that can easily be found online. I was happy with the nice graphics and the eye-pleasing and easy to use GUI, but the program just didn't seem to have enough of a positive effect on my computer to warrant purchasing it. In fact, when I did 'Deep RAM Recovery' it actually seemed to slow down my computer for several minutes, and then it was just back to normal. Another disappointment and annoyance was an error message that kept popping up every few hours. I do not know what the error message was from, but it seemed to happen every time I would be doing something, especially playing Counter-Strike. My guess is that when X amount of RAM was used up, the error occurred. This error message was quite annoying, turning my screen black and then returning me back to my game, often times causing me to die in battle.

Conclusion
Overall this was a poor product. The concept is a good one, and the GUI and ease of use is great, but from my experiences I can not say that this software is actually effective. If you want to spend $29.00 to improve your system performance, I do not recommend SpeedUpMyPC, instead I suggest upgrading your system memory. For great memory deals go to www.newegg.com.
Pros
Nice GUI Easy to use Lots of features 30-day money back guarantee
Cons
Has negative effect on PC performance For same price you could buy more physical memory Annoying error messages
One free utility that I found more useful than SpeedUpMyPC is MaxMem.
