Conclusion

I end this review certainly impressed by the quality of the Altec Lansing Wireless Studio Headphones. I was rather concerned when I received them that the sound would be muffled and fuzzy and that wasn't the case at all. Between work, home and on the go I have a few different sets of headphones which I'm familiar with and the AHP612s equal or best the performance of each.

Are they right for you? They do ring in around $100 online after all and that's considerable for a set of headphones. I'm sure you could find some headphones that are more capable for that price but surely they wouldn't be wireless. It really comes down to how much of an advantage that is for you. My boss saw the headphones and was very interested in them for her husband. She makes him wear headphones while playing his electric guitar in the house and the lack of wires would be very convenient for him. It's just this type of scenario that will make these headphones a worthwhile choice. It's also convenient for gamers who don't want dangling cords in their way as they play games.

I did have a few interference issues around the house and more at work with the higher fluorescent light density. But it wasn't enough to detract from the usefulness of these headphones being wireless, in my opinion. So if you have a need for a new set of headphones and wireless would really help you out, then I suggest you give the AHP612s a look. They sound quite good and have plenty of range for wandering around the house.

Kurtis' Thoughts

I've seen mixed reviews of these headphones; some people (even some i know) get really bad interference with them, and there is variance between samples it seems also, meaning possibly bad QC. I recommend purchasing these from a store with a good return policy (and preferably at a brick & mortar store to avoid extra shipping costs) in case you're not as lucky as Nick in getting a pair you're happy with.

Pros

No wires!
Rechargeable batteries are included and easily replaced
Comfortable even for those who wear glasses

Cons

Frequent interference problems around fluorescent lights
