We dropped by the Altec Lansing booth to check out what they had new. Below check out a bit of what we saw new for '07. The M604 is the external speaker system which was designed for the new Zune. It utilizes features that Altec Lansing has made popular with its iPod product line, but has enabled their use for the Zune. This unit will set you back $199.95.
The inMotion iM600 is an iPod speaker system with built-in FM radio and can double as a clock when plugged in. It also an "Altec Lansing engineering innovation called the Stereo Field Expander: SFX for short." Of course I couldn't tell you how well it sounds since there was so much noise on the show floor. The MSRP of the iM600 is $149.95. The iMV712 is a mini home theater for your iPod. The device contains an 8.5 inch widescreen high resolution display, two 3-inch speakers, and a 4-inch side firing subwoofer. The iMV712 also features an enhanced wireless remote for controlling it all. The iMV712 can be yours for $349.95.
The M812 is a wireless speaker system for your iPod. The speaker unit contains two 4-inch woofers and two 1-inch tweeters. The unit delivers 100 watts of digital power. An FM tuner is also included as well as an advanced remote which can learn to control your CD player or other sound source. An additional unit can added in another room such that you can enjoy your music all over the house. The M812 will set you back a hefty $399.95.
In the realm of home entertainment, Altec Lansing has come up with the PT8051 which will replace your standard receiver and speakers. Both units are all mountable and the rear speaker set works wirelessly. The unit uses NXT flat-panel drivers putting out 125 watts total output. The unit also comes with a universal remote and price tag of $999.95
The PT7031 is the single piece speaker/AV receiver replacement. It is designed to sit below your 60inch plasma TV and provide the audio processing and sound for your nice and thin TV. Like the PT8051, it utilizes NXT flat-panel technology which allows sound to bounce off of walls and provide the diffuse sound which can be delivered by digital audio formats. This unit is a bit lighter on the wallet, coming in at $599.95.
