Features

As with any USB drive, this USB drive offers mobility to the worker on-the-go. If you need to transfer files from one workstation to another back and forth and do not have access to a network, a USB drive can be your best friend. Like most other USB drives, this USB drive features a neck strap, security switch, and USB extension cable. Unlike many USB drives this USB drive has a toggle switch that turns the USB drive into a virtual hard drive that you can use to boot up with, a nifty feature indeed. Here is a little more about the features:

USB 1.1 Compliant / USB 2.0 Compatible:

Although this USB drive can be used with USB 2.0, it has not been optimized for use on 2.0. The speed on USB 2.0 will be the same as speed using 1.1. Unlike the Pen Drive we reviewed, there will be no speed increase depending on which you use. It would have been nice if Transcend had optimized this USB drive for use with USB 2.0 technology.

ZIP / HDD switch:

This switch lets you toggle between using the USB drive for on-the-fly file transfers (ZIP) and the boot-up function (HDD [Windows Only]). Note that the USB drive may not be used to start Windows or to create an Emergency disk, it only boots up to MS-DOS, to boot into windows you will have to use a hard drive.

Security Switch:

This switch toggles between write-protection on/off. With write-protection on you can not write any files to the USB drive.

Neck Strap:

A handy little strap to lasso those sexy interns at work with. Okay, not really, but it is useful for keeping track of the USB drive, you wouldn't want to lose your data or your USB drive (valued up to $830.00 USD for 2gb)

Setup

Setup doesn't entail much with usb drives. If you have ever plugged in any USB device, you should be able to figure out how to setup this USB drive. After all, the USB plug is the only thing it can connect to, so you can't really mess up (knock on wood). As mentioned before, there is also sortware included with the USB Drive, if you do not have windows XP you will probably have to install the drivers from the CD to be able to use it.

Looks like a decent product, but the limited 16Mb size will hurt it.
at first I thought the USB 1.1 transfer rate was a big disadvantage, but due to the small storeage capacity ,1.5 Mps should be fast enough.

BTW I want chocolate chip.

well, the one they sent is 16mb, you can buy up to a 2gb one.

Your cookie should arrive within 6-8 weeks. Thanks for the feedback :)

When it hits 2 gigs, I'd want USB2, though I've noticed none of the flash drives ever hits anywhere near the expected transfer speed.
