First up we have the Zune Executive case. For you stockbrokers and lawyers who've been having trouble accessorizing your Zune, Speck is here to help. The Executive case is your basic PDA-style protective case. Speck has trimmed this case in attractive black leather highlighted with white stitching.
The Executive case has a hard, flip-top cover that is held in place by a pair of low-powered magnets. The underside of the cover even incorporates a small pocket large enough for a credit card or some cash. Flip the top back and your Zune will easily slide into the Executive case behind the clear protective film. The inner lining of the Zune sleeve is a softer leather to keep scratches at bay.
The leather frame has an ellipsoid cut out to allow access to the control buttons, headphone jack and connection port. Around the back a sturdy belt clip keeps the Executive securely attached to your pin-striped suit and other non-executive clothing as well.
Testing
This leather case is top quality. I'm not a leather expert by any means, but it sure smells like quality cow hide. The case is compact and our test Zune fit snugly in place. The belt clip has a strong, springy feel to it and stayed tightly attached to my belt.
However, I wasn't fond of the button access. The hole is just a bit too small to allow easy access to the menu and play buttons. I didn't have any issues reaching the D-pad and center button, however. I found the flip top cover sturdy and thought it added a nice touch of class to the case. The clear screen protector had a small amount of glare, but nothing worse than the Zune screen itself. And the headphones and connection cable snapped into place nicely. A fine looking case for today's on the go executive music geek.
