Conclusion
I'd be hard-pressed to call this "budget" RAM, given how well it did in the overclocking department. Sure, it doesn't have the good looks of more expensive kits, but it still did slightly better than our baseline RAM and, when given an impressive 2.4 volts, the memory stayed reasonably cool and didn't seem to sweat without a heatspreader.
I'm inclined to say that this memory is competitive with shiny, expensive RAM given loose timings and enough power. I'd definitely recommend this module to anyone who's looking to keep overclocking open as an option, but also wants to pick out memory that's sure to work with any hardware.
And this RAM is about the safest bet for anyone looking for compatibility; some motherboards won't boot up when they've got non-JEDEC memory. There's a certain sanity to buying plain green parts--not everyone wants to be an overclocker, even if fancier kits only cost a hair more.
Pros
Wallet-friendly
Crucial warranty and support
Capable of running at 3-10-3-3 timings
Surprise overclocker, given enough volts
Cons
Still budget RAM with budget looks
