The Software

Equally austere as the mouse itself, the software seems to exist because it has to. Like all high-resolution mice, without it and the drivers, the sensitivity would be too high and the mouse would be impractical. But, though the software could be an irreplaceable layer of control, it's just a skinned-up version of an ordinary control panel.

Yes, it allows for simple macros, and is theoretically part of upgrading the firmware, but that's it. This Razer software doesn't have customizable game templates; it doesn't have much for fine-tuning... In short, it's not overwhelming - which, in this case, would be a great thing. Just because the device is austere, the software doesn't have to be.
