Testing - F.E.A.R.

So far as we know there is no way to record a timedemo in FEAR, and playing a game like this with FRAPS tracking the frame rates wouldn't work well because it would be very difficult to do the same thing and get into the same firefights over and over. The results wouldn't be consistent. All hope is not lost, however, because FEAR has a built-in benchmark. You just go to Options > Performance, and then click on Test Settings.
All of the in-game Video settings were set to maximum, and then we customize the "advanced video card options." The defaults from setting to "maximum" are left except for FSAA, Texture Filtering, and Resolution, which are adjusted accordingly. Patch 1.08 was used.

Noise
"Seeing as how the video card doesn't have a fan, it shouldn't make any noise, but sometimes hardware makes electronic whines."
It actually makes noise! Don`t know if its only the one I got, but it definitely makes a high pitch sound whenever scrolling windows or playing games.

Have you tried unplugging your speakers? Sometimes they pick up weird crosstalk or whatever electronics dudes call it.
Also: that sucks, man, hate to hear that. It's probably covered by the warranty if it's driving you nuts.
