Conclusion

I was previously content with all my audio equipment, and it's a shame that I now have to hunt for speakers of a higher caliber. But I won't have to hunt long. That fullness, that warmth crap that audiophiles are always hitting you with? These speakers have it in spades. From the precise bass bottom, through the glowing middle, to the crisp, almost chirpy highs, the Audioengine speakers don't fail to reproduce any sound.

These speakers could sit on a shelf but have no problems shaking the floor. If I didn't know better, I'd say they added quality to the media they played, and I have to think that the only speakers more faithful to the sound were studio earbuds; but earbuds you can't feel in your ribcage.

Audioengine's A5s have a dynamism I've never heard in home equipment, and I have no idea why they cost as little as they do. The world can only hope that the addled minds that crafted these cubic wonders don't snap out of it.

Pros

Amazing speakers at almost any price
That price is a paltry $350
Seriously, if you heard them, you'd know they're worth double that

Cons

Only two channels
Boorish-looking
