Sennheiser PXC 450 Headphones
Page 3 of 3 After spending some quality time with the PXC 450, I'm quite confident that it is one of the best noise-canceling travel headphones that money can buy. Since that seems to be exactly what Sennheiser was shooting for with this model, I'd have to say that they've achieved resounding success in that regard. In terms of general home usage, however, I highly question their value compared to other products on the market, and even many of Sennheiser's own models. With the PXC 450 you're most certainly paying quite a price premium for the NoiseGard and TalkThrough features, which would probably be of questionable value to most home users. If you're usually listening to headphones in a noisy environment, think the TalkThrough feature would be handy, and prefer the sound of high quality, circumaural, closed back headphones, then the 450 could be a great solution for you. For anyone who normally listens to headphones in a quieter environment and, therefore, doesn't have much need for the unique features that the 450 offers, then there are many better options to be found at much cheaper prices. The bottom line with this (and any other pair of headphones for that matter) is to assess your needs and see if the product you're looking at meets all of your main requirements. If the features of the 450 are exactly what you've been looking for, then I think you'll be extremely happy with these headphones despite the relatively high cost.
