Audioengine W1 Wireless Audio Adapter
Conclusion
With a wireless sound system, the best possible performance would mean that you can't tell wireless from wired. In that sense, Audioengine's W1s have achieved the best possible result. The audio came through clearly, losslessly, and undisturbed. The fixed latency was not noticeable. Until the standards change, this wireless audio solution (not said mockingly) is the de-facto best solution. If I could find fault with the Audioengine W1, it would be in this: it's stereo only, and will take both planning and outlets to get it working with a second or third wireless channel. I would also like to see a W2 (4? 6?) version that's designed to transmit surround-sound. And as far as nit-picking goes, $150 buys a lot of wire, or... the best wireless kit on the market.
