Testing - 3DMark 06

To benchmark 3DMark '06, all of the default settings are used, except that each test is run 3 times then averaged. Please note that we do not stress the use of 3DMark '06 as a serious benchmarking tool; it should only be used for the entertainment value of seeing how high some of these new cards are scoring.

Testing - HQV

To rate the video quality as objectively as possible, I'll be using the HQV benchmark DVD, a collection of clips that highlight the many processes that video playback involves, and then rating them based on my findings, using Cyberlink's PowerDVD codec. HQV uses a collection of clips that are visually assessed. Most of the tests are scored pass or fail, and the number of points each clip is worth varies depending on the importance. For example, jaggies can be severe and are easily noticeable, so getting a pass there is worth more than getting a pass on noise reduction.
