BIOS

The Dragon 2 PE BIOS is very similar to most new Phoenix BIOS'. What makes this BIOS different is the "Soyo Combo" menu. This section of the BIOS lets you access most of the advanced features of the board, including integrated peripherals and Overclocking options. The BIOS allows the FSB to reach up to 511, which could theoretically get over 2 GHz with a quad pumped FSB. Overclocking the FSB shouldn't be too much trouble with the ability to lock the AGP/PCI speeds to 33/66MHz, 36/73MHz, or 40/80MHz. Sadly this board only allows memory bus multipliers of 1.25 and 1.33. The latest BIOS allows a third ratio of 0.8.

Another down side of this BIOS is the vcore. You are only able to reach up to 1.6v. DRAM voltages can be 2.7v, 2.8v, or 2.9v.

The Dragon 2 PE's BIOS does not have any fan speed or temperature alarms or protections, and the temperature sensors never seemed to change. You will have to rely on your own thermal probe with this board.

Who manufactures the Gigabit ethernet controller on that board?

Intel.

The reason I asked is because I have seen a lot of problems with Broadcom Gigabit controllers, especially with onboard Ethernet. Thanks for info :D
