AICO Systems

After no more than 10 steps into the convention we were aggressively approached by a strangely dressed woman from AICO who decided to quickly introduce herself with "DO YOU WANT FREE PHONE??" We were scared and confused, and we instinctively said "Yes!" She introduced us to a 'more knowledgeable' representative at the booth who could answer our questions about their products. After a few minutes of him telling us about their Ethernet Phone, we decided to test it for ourselves, take some pictures and move on. When you dial a number, the phone first has to connect, which takes a few seconds before actually dialing the number. When we tried it out we were able to hear quite a bit of "hollow echoic' static, but it's a pretty good idea nonetheless. I can't say for sure whether the quality of the phone is always like that or if it was an isolated incident at the convention.

If an Ethernet phone interests you, here's a bit more information courtesy of AICO:

"TalkPro R-100 is a fully featured phone that will provide you the most complete Voice-over-IP solutions, and more importantly, free you from expensive long distance and international phone charges. It incorporates the latest VoIP technology into one independent, easy-to-use and highly functional broadband telephony device!

TalkPro R-100 has most of the functions and appearance of a traditional phone, designed to provide you with high level of convenience and practicality. No matter where you call or when you call, your calling experience with TalkPro is always enjoyable and worry free!"

Cool...I like the free phone thing...they were playing Quake on a PDA? That must have been one good chip! Bit disappointed that there were no next gen graphics cards. I loved the shuttle basketball thing! That was cool! When's part two out?
