Original Kit

The original kit was packaged inside a large cardboard box which was heavily padded with foam to ensure each item remained in good condition during shipments. The kit consists of the InnovaCOOL Rev3 CPU water block with Socket 370/a mounting hardware, Eheim 1046 12v DC pump, AGB-O-Matic Reservoir, Maxxpert 120mm Radiator, 120mm fan & grill, 6 feet of tubing, anti-corrosive fluid and misc. fittings, screws, molex connectors and zip ties. The kit also came with plenty of documentation, but it was all in German. Thankfully, for those who need it, HighSpeedPC has plenty of information and guides located on their website (Setting Up Water Cooling, Water Cooling FAQ and Water Cooling How-To Guides).

InnovaCOOL Rev3 CPU Block

The InnovaCOOL Rev3 is Innovatek's original CPU block which is currently being phased out (we use it as a reference and compare it to Innovatek's newer products). The block's dimensions are around 50x50x32 mm, while the block with connectors and mounting bracket measures around 69x60x75 mm. The block's internal construction is very similar to the Zalman water block we reviewed back in September last year. The anodized black aluminum shell houses a copper core which is made up of several disks creating channels for the water to flow through. The base of the block is lapped very well and is extremely flat despite not having a mirror finish. There are two 3/8" fittings on top of the block located in opposite corners. These compression fittings are extremely secure and are a great method of connecting and sealing the tubing. The retention mechanism for this block has been very well thought out and is easy to use. The mechanism holds on to all three lugs on each side of the socket and is secured by tightening a knob on top of the block.
