Installation
Installation of every single Innovatek component we received was simple and self explanatory. First we laid out the kit and cut the tubing to the appropriate lengths to ensure smooth, unrestricted flow. Then each component was added to the loop by connecting the tubing. Finally, we plugged the pump into an external power supply to fill the loop with water and anti-corrosive fluid (3:1 ratio; Water:Innovatek fluid). The kit was then leak tested over night and unsurprisingly, not a drop of water seeped out. The compression fittings and quality construction of the blocks ensure leak free operation. After ensuring that no leaks were present, the kit was installed in one of our test computers utilizing an AMD Athlon 1700+ in a DFI LAN Party KT400a with 512MB Crucial PC3500.
Securing both CPU blocks to a Socket 370/A simply required you to place the block on top of the CPU, place the clamp over the block and connect to the socket lugs, and tighten by twisting a screw. The older block has a knob that you can twist with your fingers while the new block requires an Allen wrench. Personally, I found the XX-Flow easier to install.
The InnovaCOOL we were sent did not come with a P4 retention mechanism, although Innovatek does produce one. However, the XX-Flow did come with a P4 retention mechanism, and installation was fairly simple. Simply place the block over the CPU, clip the retention mechanism in place and push the lever down.
Installing the GPU block consists of securing the block to the board with two nylon nuts and bolts.
The pump and reservoir generally would sit in the bottom of the case, but can be secured with screws.
Both radiators are able to be installed in place of a 120mm case fan if there is enough room. The Maxxpert radiator requires plenty of depth while the new radiator requires plenty of height and width. The new radiator can also be installed elsewhere in the case if you are up for a little modding.
