These contest rules are for the TheTechLounge Inc. ("TheTechLounge") "June 2006 Contest" (the "Contest"). The Contest starts on June 8, 2006 at 10:00 PM CST, and ends June 30, 2006 at 10:00 PM CST. Participation constitutes entrants’ full and unconditional agreement to and acceptance of these rules and terms for participation.

Eligibility

This Contest is offered electronically via the Internet to all natural persons who have Internet access, and are residents of the Planet Earth. Yes, that means it’s an intercontinental contest.

Employees, officers, and directors of TheTechLounge, its affiliates, sponsors, subsidiaries, advertising, promotion and fulfillment agencies, legal advisors, their immediate family members and persons living in their same household, are not eligible to participate in the Contest. TheTechLounge’s determinations regarding eligibility are final and binding. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED.

How to Enter

Participants may only enter the Contest by way of the Internet. To enter the contest, you must be a registered member of TheTechLounge’s forums and post your ‘photochop’ entry in the Official June 2006 Contest Thread. Pictures to be ‘photochopped’ will be provided in the Contest thread. Please make sure to use the “Manage Attachments” feature of the forums to upload the file to our server rather than hosting the file yourself. If you were already a member of the forums before the contest started, you are still eligible to win. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.

What is required of a ‘photochop’ entry? Basically, we want you to use one of the provided Squeezebox photos and do something creative with it in your favorite graphics editing program (Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro, MSPaint, etc…). There are no limits to what you can do, from altering the style of the Squeezebox to changing the Squeezebox’s surroundings. Keep in mind that entries will be judged by TheTechLounge staff based on their creativity, visual appeal and how the Squeezebox is portrayed (having a stickman poo on the Squeezebox will leave us unimpressed). We don’t want to put too many limits on what you can do, just have fun with it.

You may only enter the contest once. Duplicate entries will be ignored. No more than one person in a given household may claim a prize. ALL ENTRIES SUBMITTED BECOME THE EXCLUSIVE PROPERTY OF THETECHLOUNGE AND PARTICIPANT GRANTS ALL RIGHTS IT MAY HAVE THEREIN TO THETECHLOUNGE AND WAIVES ALL MORAL RIGHTS THEREIN.

The contest will end on June 30, 2006 at 10:00 PM CST. Two (2) winners will be chosen as decided by a vote conducted by TheTechLounge staff. Each eligible winner will receive one (1) prize. If you are chosen as a winner, you will receive an e-mail notification from TheTechLounge (sent to the e-mail address you used to register your forum account). You only have three (3) days to respond to the e-mail before an alternate winner will be selected.

No alternative prize, cash, or other substitution is permitted except by TheTechLounge in the event of prize unavailability. Winner should allow up to 8 weeks for delivery of the prize.

ALL FEDERAL, STATE, PROVINCIAL, AND/OR LOCAL TAXES/DUTIES ASSOCIATED WITH THE RECEIPT OR USE OF ANY PRIZE IS THE SOLE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE WINNER. WINNER AGREES TO PAY ANY APPLICABLE TAXES PAYABLE BY YOU.

Notification of Winners

TheTechLounge Contest officials will choose winners the day after the close of Contest. Winners will be notified by e-mail. The notification e-mail will state that to claim the prize, the entrant must submit their mailing address and phone number (P.O. Box addresses are not eligible to receive a prize) to contest@thetechlounge.com within 3 (3) days of delivery of the notification e-mail. In the event of a dispute regarding who submitted an online entry, the entry will be deemed submitted by the authorized account holder of the e-mail account. If a selected winner cannot be contacted, is ineligible, fails to provide the complete address information, or fails to timely send their information as is required, the prize will be forfeited and an alternate winner will be selected.

Winner's List

A winner’s list may be posted on the TheTechLounge.com web site upon completion of the Contest, at the sole discretion of TheTechLounge.

Additional Terms and Conditions

All decisions of the judges are final and binding without appeal. By accepting and/or using prize, winner agrees to the use of winner's name, voice, and/or likeness for the purpose of advertising, trade, or promotion without further compensation.

TheTechLounge, agents and representatives of TheTechLounge, its affiliates, subsidiaries, sponsors, advertising, promotion and fulfillment agencies, and legal advisors are not responsible for and shall not be liable for: (i) late, lost, delayed, damaged, misdirected, incomplete, illegible, unintelligible entries or unsuccessful efforts to notify winners or their late, lost, misdirected or unsuccessful acceptance by way of a reply to the notification e-mail; (ii) telephone, electronic, hardware or software program, network, Internet, or computer malfunctions, failures, or difficulties of any kind; (iii) failed, incomplete, garbled, or delayed computer transmissions; (iv) any condition caused by events beyond the control of TheTechLounge that may cause the Contest to be disrupted or corrupted; (v) any injuries, losses, or damages of any kind arising in connection with or as a result of the prize, or acceptance, possession, or use of the prize, or from participation in the Contest; or (vi) any printing or typographical errors in any materials associated with the Contest.

TheTechLounge reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to suspend or cancel Contest at any time, including but not limited to, if a computer virus, bug, or other technical problem corrupts the administration, security, or proper play of the Contest.

By participating in the Contest, each participant agrees to release and hold TheTechLounge and the employees, officers, directors, shareholders, agents, representatives of TheTechLounge, its affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising, promotion, and fulfillment agencies, and legal advisors, harmless from any and all losses, damages, rights, claims and actions of any kind in connection with the Contest or resulting from acceptance, possession, or use of any prize, including without limitation, personal injury, death, and property damage, taxes, levies, duties and claims based on publicity rights, defamation, or invasion of privacy.
