Brian and I are currently planning something very special. We will both be constructing a custom case of our own design 100% from scratch. Look forward to lots of articles for the process so you can do the same. We will keep you updated in the "Work Logs" forum when we start to build them...

haha. yea, that would be cool. but it would have to be very well done and polished / laminated etc like in cars for it to be truly cool. :-p

Check out work logs forum to see what Brian is doing with his case

That'd be cool. I always like custom mods, cuz I'm not that good, except for the price. :D

i'm going to start shopping around the local industrial park for people who will make me front bezels. i have a feeling it'll cost a bit because of the tabs to lock it on the body of my case. have to get them exact or it won't be snug.

This summer I'm going to be making an acrylic case from scratch. They just cost too damn much to buy. I would rather make it myself anyways, because I'm going to be adding a resevoir to the bottom of the case for when I add in my custom water cooling setup. I've already got all the cold cathodes and led fans etc that I would ever need.

I am pretty sure you don't want to use wood. It will get much hotter than if you were to use acrylic, aluminum, etc. I remember on an ACT I took, there was a question pertaining to insulation with different materials. Wood insulated better than the above...and you don't want to insulate a freaking computer. :?

If you use would, the smart thing to do would to give it maximum air flow as possible, ye know like put holes everywhere! Also if you're gonna use would never get it wet cause if you do that will just make it get hotter when the liquid heats up...Also might wanna outline the inside of the case with metal....

Or just don't use wood period. . <-period I made a cardboard case a few months ago, got wet (Sprite), liquid got all over the inside, sparks flew the cardboard lit on fire and I had to put it out with more Sprite....believe it or not the only thing I lost was the motherboard and the power supply not even the processor or anything else....but I advise you don't try that.

you know what you could use? is multiple cans of sprite soda...without the sprite inside of them!

The cardboard case was a bet. Someone said they saw a picture of a cardboard case and thought that it was fake and that there really wasn't a fully functional computer inside and that it was just set up for the picture. It was my task to prove them wrong. I proved that cardboard cases are possible....but I also proved to myself that they crap and you can easily destroy your parts.

Use either some aluminum or some acrylic. Those are always cool.
