nonsecular are religous wars (ie crusades or that catholic protestant war in ireland)

I think war shouldn't involve religion at all neither the goverment (pls excuse my first post cause I didn't know what I was talking about) Reason being is because when that start happening it shows that religion has more favor in the country and has more say then others which shouldn't be so....take the Catholics for example back in the oooo a long time ago (forgot :P) the Catholics pretty much ruled england, not even the king could stand up against them he followed the orders of the pope...and their was the great crusades to convert people to their religion.

I don't think there really is a difference. Secular wars can be just a fanatical as non-secular. I remember just watching a special on the History channel about WWII and Japan. In that the Japanese we very set on winning the war and would not surrender no matter what, it finially took the Emperor deciding to surrender or else the people would have fought to the last man.

The reasons may be different but the results can be just the same. I think the same idea towards the old idea of fighting against Communism could have been a secular "crusade" There really is just as much bad blood on each side.
