Just wondering what would be better for a speaker system for my computer. Ive seen some home theatre systems pretty cheap on ebay, and I wanted to know if anyone has this type of setup for their computer and if its any good. I plan on doing that or buying the logitech z-680s.

I have heard GREAT things about the z-680s. Supposedly they are the best right now, at least for the price. Depends on how much you want to spend

The 680's are awesome, for a computer setup/limited space.
The problem with a cheap home theater, is cheap speakers, cheap amp, cheap sound.
You have to decide if you want volume or quality
I got home theater (Surround sound system) if thats what you're asking about...its pretty awesome i mean when u step you can actually hear the step..when someone says something to the back right of you, you hear it form the back right speaker not just the right speaker it is pretty awesome plus i have a bass system which makes it much much better so yeah go with home theater

if im not mistaken... the 680s have 5 speakers, so it is still surround sound. The 680s will sound better than any cheap home theater speakers you will find. a review I read on them said "you will not find a better sound anywhere for under 600 dollars"

my goal is too have the klipsch promedia 5.1s by the end of june along with an audigy. I personally side with speaker system setup over a home theater setup which u will pay out your ass for...

well his "home theater system is comprised of klipsch 8.2 + some koss stuff, systems speakers which can be used for anything.
the 5.1s are nice, and i used to/am a klipsch fan, but the z680s blow the away. but 5.1 price has gone down a lot.
Aha! Admit it! BF is better than MOHAA! Do it!p
each game has better qualities, i like bf better though bc it r teh funnay, who doesnt love being and engineer and blowing your whole team of a carrier;P

I would go with a good computer setup over a cheap home theatre setup any day. Now if you were getting a good home theatre setup that is different. A good Amp alone will cost more then a good set of computer speakers.

I have a logitech z-560 on my pc and if I had the money I would buy a Klipsch pro media 5.1 I would go with the pc speakers, to me it seems like for the money you can get a better deal. that is unless you have deep pockets for a nice setup with a home theater componet system
It's a matter of taste really, there is no right or wrong choice. Personally what id do tho is get a sound card w/ a digital output and hook it up to my exhisting home theater in-a-box setup.

LOGITECH?????? WTF were you guys thinking....
go for Klipsh man...
They are one of the Best on the market for sound, home theater, or desktop....
Well i guess if you really don't have cash then i guess the z680 are nice... but remember... the Z680 lacks mid tones... the sub completely overpowers everything.... unless you like bass z680 is not for you..

Sorry, they'll be here tomorrow.:D I don't see anything wrong with having something that isn't top of the line when I don't care that much about sound, just enough to want surround.:)[/i]
