I am creating a LAN-cube for TheTechLounge for me to use at UberLeet LAN parties. I am currently working on the Autocad plans for it, and I will post pics soon when I have something closer to the final product for you to see. All I can tell you for now is that you should be afraid. very afraid.
what are lan parties? (No Kurtis or Brian I'm not kidding) 8)

ok, first off a LAN is a local area network where computers can communicate back and forth.
Given the nature of a lan, you can hook up a lot of computers, as many as you want with your only limitation being the size of the hub and whatnot. Using the network you can play with a bunch of other people locally in games. This means no lag. No lag = fun.
LAN prty = no lag multiplayer gaming with a bunch of people you probably are friends with. Leet the fun begin: www.uberleetlan.net
to bad i live no where near you guys lol, I know what lan is *rolls eyes* lol i didn't however know what a lan party was thanks for informing me.

I'd be really cool if you shaped it like a toilet and called it the "$hitter". And everytime you fragged some1 you could say "I just $hit on you". make the water cooling reservoir into the tank and just paint the whole thing white. . man i think i need more sleep...

Now that I finally have time to make a case, I am going to be building a Mini-ITX HTPC type case. It will be running a EPIA M10000 (with 256M PC2100 probably), ATI TV Wonder VE, Slot Loading DVD, a 200G HD and a 200W PSU. (So Far)
There will most likely be an article on it.

If your looking for a LAN/HTPC case id say get one of those small Alluminimum boxes from Maplins in the UK, they seem like a great case and easy to work with.

So you're actually gonna make the case? The closest I've ever seen someone come to making a case is nailing wood together and screwing some old 5.25 and 3.5 inch racks into it.
This project sounds like it will be an UberLeet mod. Is there gonna be any laser cutting involved? I ask because you mentioned autocad. Most of the laser cutting devices are controled by autocad.

I'm not sure if Kurtis is going to make a case anymore. On my cases, I will be using a dremel, table saw, jigsaw, etc etc. Kurtis will most likely use the same general tools I will, but he was also talking to some companies about constructing it for him out of aluminum (I'm not sure though). I was going to construct mine out of acrylic, but I am thinking of using metal for the outside to style em up a bit.

Yeah I have a laser cutter in my garage. LOL no i dont :P I have a dremel and thats about all I have. The autocad design is just to figure out the layout for myself. Anyways I am not sure I will do it anymore because I don't have time. maybe when I get a LOT of time I will try to make something. I might end up making a prototype out of wood or something first, I dunno. Ideally I would sell the design to a manufacturer, make lots of money, and get a top quality case made of aluminum in the process :P We can dream can't we?

Wow, there are a lot of people working on some really cool projects over there. I like all the media boxes. Making a puter for your home theater isn't the most original idea but if I had extra money laying around that is probably what I would do too. 9 bucks an hour just doesn't cut it to pay for school and home theater puters. Oh well, maybe when I get a real job.
