every1 needs to go dl the 25minute halflife 2 gameplay clip from E3 off of fileplanet. never seen anything so amazing. The guy explaining everything is pretty soft so turn you sound up.

Hell yeah! HL took the lead over Doom3 in my "MUST HAVE KNOW OR KILL MYSELF" list. I like the one vid where you move the table in front of the door to keep the door from opening, but then the guys group together and kick down the door and all the stuff flies everywhere and then they shoot you through the window and the blinds fly everywhere and then you throw the radiator at the other guy and it smashes him into a soda machine and a buttload of sodas fall out and then you go and rant rant rant rant...
Sorry, I went a little overboard. Just shows how good the game will be.

Topless and her being done sideways and up the ass would have been a fantastic addition to the movie.

ok, just saw the hl2 mov last night. pretty damn impressive. the tractor beam weapon is teh shizzle.
and the "buttload of sodas" scene was pretty awesome as well.
i am quite excited about the new AI. normally i don't play single player all that much, but hl2 looks quite good.
i liked it when one of the audience members asked if it would load on his 486. classic. i just hope it doesn't require a $500 gf fx or ati to play.

lol. i think the AI will be amazing. I would like to see bots that try to kill everyone while you are trying to kill other people in multiplayer. Perhaps coop missions etc. Many many many possibilityies

yeah, B, but in UT2k3 the bots on your team are so worthless. i agree, not as good in the lower skill levels and way to amazingly good at the higher skills.
what i want to see is bots that actually hide behind things well and volley fire like actual soldiers. also, it would be nice if they could read my e-mail for me, write up reports for my meetings and do my taxes.
the co-op AI in hl2 seemed like it could do this, minus the taxes and such. the teammembers actually looked like they would be a help and not a hindrance. then again, this was a programed demo, so who knows. as long as they are smarter than the hostages in CS, idiots always getting stuck in walls and running away. idiots.

as far as graphics detail and realism and multimedia go, Doom III is king by far.
but overall, with Half-Life 2's gameplay, more-than-decent graphics, mind-boggling A.I. and physics... i think HL2 is going to have a slight edge.
then again, i guess i haven't really seen any videos demonstrating Doom III's physics or A.I. so we'll see.. ^_^

I don't know about realism between the both. I would think the physics and materials system in HL2 would give DoomIII a run for it's money on the realism department. From what I hear the lighting in Doom III whups up on HL2's lighting though.. *shrug* I guess it comes a personal preferences in some ways.
I have only seen the HL2 video, haven't seen anything on DIII yet. Although, if the mods for HL2 come out as fast as they did for HL, then that is going to be one great game.
HL2 will be better than D3 I thinkmethinks so also :) we shall see

Just got an ATI Radeon 9600 Pro just for HL2. Gotta have a DX9 card. I don't know much about D3. Is that gonna use DX9 also?

At least it'll run better with a fast dx9 card ;)

D3 is for sure DX9. I (cough) got the alpha, and it loks amazing, but the shadows are too hard, unlike the nice soft ones in HL2. Have a look at the www.doom3world.org forums for D3 related talk, and I don't think there is a non-gamespy forum for HL2.
My money is on HL2, simply because of the (apparantly) non-linear gameplay style.
