Hello techies,
This weekend wasn't spent here at all! It was spent at the world's greatest amusement park which boasts 16 Roller Coasters and over 100 generic rides for all the general public. Cedar Point is located on a stretch of peninsula on the edge of Lake Erie, Ohio. I went with the flow for CoasterMania! which was Friday and Saturday and got a sun burn on my face! The day went relatively well and I have no complaints at all. Though, the main reason I went was to ride the new debuted coaster "Top Thrill Dragster" but it was closed for repairs. My time was not wasted and Cedar Point is my top notch park for family enjoyment, courtesy, and superb-ride uptimes.
Blue Streak Corkscrew Coaster:
It was my first coaster to ride on as we entered the park with my friends Joe, Caleb, Tim, Ashley, and Ashton. The queue line was very short and the wait was about ten minutes. The ERT is about 1 minute and 40 seconds if I recall. It has one big loop the first drop off the incline-hill and then banks to the right into four (or five) loops which is enough to get your fat pudgy face jiggling like jello. We were amazed at the speed because generally it has been known to be less than 70 but it was about 76 MPH. It has been running exceptional throughout this summer so far.
Gemini:
This wooden roller coaster is one of my favorites of all the parks I have been to so far. It was built to be a sister coaster to the one at Coney Island but it has dual racing tracks for the trains. As it went down the incline-hill I watched in delight the surrounding view (it is about 133 feet in the air or the equivalent of 15 stories) of the beach below me. At the speed it got my eyes to the watering level and it has also been running faster than usual.
Mean Streak:
It is the tallest wooden roller coaster the park boasts and it is a great one at that. Looking up at it might look low to the ground but that is an optical illusion. Sitting in the train going up the incline it looks so high up there and we were about 3/4 of the way to the top and it stopped for a split second. Me and Caleb freaked out but had a giant relief when it jerked back up there. This thing made us cry (because the wind in your face) and was absolutely a great blast.
Millenium Force:
Talk about butterflies in your stomach, it almost made me lose my lunch just looking at the drop. The initial incline-hill is about 310 feet and is the equivalent of Lady Liberty at Ellis Island, NY. I rode the front seat BABY and closed my eyes halfway up the elevator-style lift coaster incline. The view is just stunning and the words cannot describe the hysteria I had going down it. The ride is over 2 minutes long and the ups and downs are just brilliantly done. It is worth the 2 hour wait in the queue line.
That is all folks,
Eric
