Aero 7+ all the way bud :-)
The 3.5 Aero 7+ panel won't mount in most cases. Coolermaster is working on that and I am not sure if the current Aero 7+ is fixed.
You may also want to look at the Aeroflow from Vantec. That is a mighty fine heatsink. It beats the Volcano 11 in performance and sound, but I am not sure how it compares to the Aero 7+. I tested the Volcano 11 and Aeroflow, but not the Aero 7+.
I just bought the Aero 7+ when I was looking at the aeroflow from vantec. I'm pretty happy with the Aero 7+, it's fairly quiet from low-med. My case fans are louder than it. Uhm, at high it's pretty audible though but not too bad at all. Then again I was coming from a 6800 rpm fan from globalwin. The 3.5" thing is still broke in the 7+ I think. I can't mount it. Just from exp, I'd go w/ the Aero, but I've never tried the volc. 11.

I got the Aero 7+ in my case now and I have to agree that it's very quiet. The 3.5 plate fits in my lian-li pc-65 case though with less screws than I would normally use, but it hasn't moved at all since I installed.
I've been pretty happy with the perf. on it..

I got the aero7+ too, and it works real good. Its quiet and its medium setting and still does a good job cooling. Im using it on a 2500 barton.

sorry im on vacation...
Aero 7+ is the one I reviewed and yes it has the mounting problem. However it is a great looking heatsink with low noise, great airflow, and great cooling capability.
Aeroflow < Aero 7+
Volcano 11+ I haven't seen, but I imagine it isn't much better than the Volcano 11 which we reviewed and I didn't like because of just okay performance and extremely loud fan
sorry for delayed response, im still on vacation, so I can only get on when internet is available... anyways hope that helps
yes thanks im gunna get the aero 7+ now, i just hope it will mount on the case i decide to get :)

the heatsink and PCI mount will work perfectly in any case. the 3.5" fan adjuster mount will not fit in any case. I confronted CoolerMaster about this and they admitted that the problem exists and it is being worked on but I don't think they will release the fixed one as the Aero 7+ but rather something else, not sure though. I can guarantee you (almost) that the 3.5" will not mount but everything else will be perfect
ill make that biatch fit :)

you can't... it is too short. the rails on either side don't extend far enough to reach the screw holes for mounting in a case. if you can mount it it will be like a half an inch into the case.
you might be able to mod it and make it but it would be a pain in the ass and its a waste of a 3.5" bay (3.5" externals are sort of a waste anyways) and you will see you don't really need to adjust it bc its not very loud on high speed.
k... but ill make it fit (if its useless i can break it :)) I WILL MAKE IT FIT MUAHAHAHA! lol

Go for the Aero 7+. I just got it and I love it. It is very easy to install and keeps my XP2600 (333) plenty cool. The only issues I had with it were the ones that just about every reviewer had. The clip on the top runs into the power supply but with a pair of wire cutters I fixed that pretty easily. Also, it is a bit loud and causes some case vibrations at full speed. I recomend running it at around 3/4 speed. It still pumps lots of air and most of the sound/vibrations are eliminated.
Some people have had problems with the 3 1/2 inch bay thing, but I have a customized bay cover that has all my switches/dials/control things. I just put a hole in the bay cover and stuck the rheobus thru. Works great.
I give it an A.

Yeah if you aren't afraid to mod your case a little bit you can make anything fit. The average user doesn't mod though, thus the readon for mentioning it not fitting
I actually just replaced my Volcano 11 with an aero 7+. At full speed it is much quieter than the Volcano. At full load the chip runs at 47 deg C, (XP2500 @2.41 GHz). I did find that the cable running to the Volcano rheostat is much longer than the one for the aero7. I like that aero 7!

I've been thinkin about getting the areo 7+ and I was at a computer expo this weekend and i saw it. My 1st impression was: Holy Crap, that thing's huge. Then i picked it up and it was really heavy. I have a question, will that thing break the motherboard, or is there something to support it, because just picking it up it feels like it could snap the mobo in half.
Both the volcano and aero 7 are very heavy. They both use all 3 mounting points on each side. They are firmly held into place. I have not had any problems with anything coming loose. I would also make sure that all the screws are installed in your motherboard and fastened tightly. You shouldn't have any problems.

The weight isnt all put on the mobo itself, the support comes from the motherboard stand-offs. You shouldnt have any problems with either heatsink. Just do like Pestis said and make sure the standoffs are good and tight
