Fisrt off, I would like to point out that this article is written by Handrail from our forums. He did a great job and hopefully we will see more from him in the future :-)
Here is a quote:
Got computer junk lying around? I do too, cables, old drives, ancient cases. For the most part they are pretty worthless. Why do we hang on to all this crap? Occasionally I’ll scavenge an old video card for testing purposes or swipe a NIC in case of a catastrophic LAN party network card failure. But, for the most part, this stuff just hangs about and collects dust.
I’m not really an ace computer junkie, I love my machine, love to game, but I also find enjoyment in building and destroying things. Now, see if you can follow me. Loads of useless computer junk lying around…love of destruction and fabrication. Yes! You have it, why not build something useful from these relics of technocracy and destroy something in the process?
Check it out!

Mister handrail, very nicely done. A friend of mine is an artist who does work in that vein, check out his site: ERP 2010 (http://www.erp2010.com/).
Though I'd warn you that inviting a smackdown with lunchmeat is probably a bad idea. I'm not saying you'd lose, brother... I'm just saying be careful what you wish for.

well, it's at least cooler than the lunchmeat that comes in a bag. the buddig stuff, it always tastes like plastic.
now, that other stuff, the stuff in the can. no way is it cooler than that.

just looked at your friend's site too corinthian. really cool work! i dig it. great photography and painting work as well as the tech sculpture.
everyone else, check it out if you can. the site is pretty flash intensive, so slow connections beware.

Please wear a mask and gloves when doing this. Fine silicon dust and the toxins that are in motherboards/chips/solder are precisely why computer recycling is expensive.

yeah, but what fun would that be? the dizziness and vomiting is half the fun.
seriously, i did wear all the proper protection. eye wear, mask, gloves while dealing with the dust. plus, i did all the dremeling on my front porch, outdoors, so most of the dust was vented far away....into my neighbors windows....muhahahahahaaa!!!
