This is really a post for later but I'll put it up now for ppl as special as me. HA. Ne get the chance to play the multiplayer demo of Doom 3 @ QuakeCon 2003? If so how was it, spare no details. Personally I've had the pleasure of playing the Alpha version of the game that was displayed, I think, at E3 a WHILE back. The graphics were friggin AMAZING, even though I was running it at 640*480 @15fps and was relatively bug free. I can only imagine how far its optimization has come along and what other tweaks they made to the game.. game data weighed in @ 1gig!! for only 3 maps that you could only access via the command console. Overall gameplay was very enjoyable even at 15fps and typical of the FPS'ers coming out these days. Once again, graphics were friggin AMAZING even in Alpha. Everything looks like CGI did 3-4 years ago. Details up the wazzoo, the only distraction being the skin textures that resembled those in the Final Fantasy movie, good but kinda pastey. Post it up and share your expierience.

I played the Alpha a while back and thought it was pretty good. It ran real slow on my comp -?1.2GHZ TBird. GF4 Ti4200 but I enjoyed it nevertheless. The shadows, as Doom 3 is know for revolutionizing, is out of this world, the dark futuristic atmosphere makes good use of it, ie shooting up a dark room really looks like ur shooting in a dark room. I couldnt believe my computer was spitting out these images in real time, or bullet time in my case. I am not going to attend quakecon but hopefully some1 will be able to swipe it and post it at school. as thats how I came upon the Alpha (apparently some1 stole the LAPTOP that the game was loaded on, zipped the files and sent it on its merry way) Otherwise im out of luck

I'm sort of bummed out about the 4 player limit thing I guess..since I've been a big TF fan and bigger multiplayer games at least from 10-20 peeps. As for graphics, damn those graphics are nasty. I know gamespy had a few articles well more interviews w/ the peeps at id from quakecon. You coudl check out that coverage. Unless you're one of those anti-gamespy people.
