assuming you only have pata drives=IDE drives then allz you needz is get some ATA100/133 (think 133's are backwards compatible w/ 100 so its all good) rounded cables. Can either get 1 that has 2 device connectors or 1->1 cable. Check to see how many IDE umm "slots" u have on ur mobo and purchase accordingly although I recommend duel device cables just'n case. Goto ur fav retailer and search for "rounded cables" whohoo. you shouldnt pay more than $10 for a regular duel device cable (I gets mine for 6 at directron.com).. guess thats it, hope that helped.

CABLES : These usually come along with the motherboard. Check when buying. Although I have noticed you are usually on supplied with one IDE cable with motherboards. So buy an extra cable when buying your parts.

I suggest you use sites like these..

Xoxide is selling Two UV IDE cables and one UV floppy cable for $9.99 right now: http://xoxide.com/uvidecaandon.html The IDEs are 24" ATA133 and the Floppy is 18" and UV can't hurt.:) They say they look silver without UV so even if you don't have a UV CCFL it'll look quite nice.

This is what you need. http://www.xoxide.com/uvidecaandon.html and the price can not be beat ($10 for 2 IDE & 1 floppy). If you only want colored cables, then directron has quite a selection. deftno9 has the lowdown on the cables, but also don't forget a floppy. BTW the DFI Lanparty Mobo's DO include all the necessary rounded cables.

Thanks for all the help :D

Just to make sure I'm getting this right I'll need an IDE cable from the mobo to hd, an IDE from mobo to CD-Rom, and a floppy cable from mobo to floppy drive. Right?

Thanks again

Yes, or u can connect both CD and HD to 1 but w/e, floppy has its own dedicated connector on the mobo everything else is the same unless u get SATA drives

Most likely, I haven't seen any mobos with only one IDE port but it is possible...

Dealing w/ the comment of putting the Cd and HD on one cable, is there any advantage to that? Or is it better to have seperate cables?

It is better to have them on separate cables if you can. Having them on the same channel loses performance when you have to transfer data between the 2 devices on the same cable.

Most CD-ROMS run at ATA33 for file transfers. If you put that device on the same cable as a drive which is running at ATA133, you will most likely seriously impede your HD performance. Besides, it also makes the overall wiring job a lot easier on separate channels.
