When I click to download a file, i get the normal Open, Save, whatever..... but whenever i click open, after it gets done opening it, the dialog closes (Like normal) but it doesnt open the file, anyone know of the problem?

This has happened to me before, some files just don't seem like they want to be opened, but saving them should work. I don't know what the actual problem is, maybe a problem with the temp files...

Does this happen for every dl or only certain file types? have you checked ur temporary internet files folder to see if it actually dl'ed? it might be that ur IE doesn't know what to open it with.

You can also try resintalling IE. Just go to the microsoft site and download IE6 sp1. It might fix any files which might have been corrupted. http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/downloads/critical/ie6sp1/download.asp

I like Mozilla much better than Opera, but I haven't tried Opera in a few months.

I am currently using mozilla and i like it a lot... couple bugs but nothin big.

IE has been freezin my comp up for some reason and making it run slow, so i started usin mozilla as my primary browser and no probs :P

i like opera because it comes with a built in popup stopper

I still like Mozilla/Firebird better than IE.. the problem with IE is the capability to be customized by spyware, lots of holes in it (better than earlier versions) and some of the extra features in Mozilla/Firebird.

I like the pop-up blocking, tabs..

i like mozilla, i kinda just use whatever i feel like, normally its mozilla or netscape. rarely it's IE

well i like emo, but just not the "emo" mainstream bands like dashboard confessional and bright eyes....god i hate those, i like stuff like:

pedro the lion, seldom, the velvet teen, ester drang, the get up kids, neutral milk hotel, the shins, swearing at motorists, arab strap, beulah, fontane, explosions in the sky, godspeed you black emperor, mexico 1910, old 97's, etc. etc. etc.

i could go on forever...

oh, and contrary to popular belief....weezer is NOT emo....they're a crappy geek rock record company controlled band, plain and simple

It can be caused by a setting on the server that does not allow the execution of programs within the directory where the file is stored. That's to keep people from running the file on the web server, like you were trying to do. :wink: It's to save server system resources.
