i went to check out the place with some people. its nice, but they dont have game licenses yet, so there are only like 5 games to play.
right now we are also looking at cybercafe on babcock, which has better computers and more games

Damn its not fair!!! Why cant things like this be set up in England. The only place i have ever seen here is a small computer shop, 6 'puters with CS and C&C:Red Alert 2... thats it!!
Wish i had money/location/time/some small amount of sense to go set up a 'play place'

lol that sucks man.
I think when I graduate from college, or maybe sooner if I get the chance, I will open a 'play place' like you speak of. I want it to be huge, it will be like nothing you have ever seen before :) I can't give any details though yet bc its all a secret :P

Hey all,
I went and checked out the only two places I know of in town. I don't know from the looks of it how many of the people actually live in San Antonio, but whatever. I'm trying to get something fairly big together, there are space limits involved though.
I decided on going with the cybercafe on babcock, they have a better price, and more amenities. I counted about 20 computers, all pretty damn good for playing just about any game. Several xboxs, gamecubes, ps2s, dreamcasts, dvd players, and satillite tv. Along with two big ass flat screen tvs (50-60 in?).
You can byoc, and they can bring in tables for extra computers, maybe 5 or 6 at most. I'll still have to check.
Food, is availible, they have a little counter in the back and you can buy pretty much anything you'd need. Burgers, drinks, pizza, etc etc. All very reasonably priced.
Yes there is an internet connection, silly me, I forgot to ask how fast, but rest assured it is "high speed" and I'm fairly sure they won't stick us with sbc dsl :)
As far as games and comp specs go, like I said, the comps are great, and they have more games then you could shake a stick at. For everything you need to know go to http://www.goxgaming.com
Finally, price and time. I've tried to figure out what would be most convienient for everybody and its been hard. I'm thinking, Noon to midnight, this Sunday. If too many people can't make it, let me know and a reschedule is always open...seeing as how nobody has paid yet. As for the cost, $15 a person.
I think that would cover just about everything, if you have any questions please let me know.

I would most definitely go this Sunday. Perhaps we could bring a couple prizes just for fun. We have more crap lying around despite the contest. Nothing for sure though, I will have to talk it over with Brian. But if we can, it would probably be cool to give out some prizes at the LAN, maybe a random drawing, we will see.
