Martini Glass El Cables

OK, here is a challenge for all of you uberleet electricians out there. I have an inverter with 2 leads for El Cables. If I bend the El's into martini glass shapes on the side of my case is there any way to make them alternately light up, back and forth. Kind of like the neon lights at the bar. :D I was thinkin maybe havin a switch in between the inverter and each El and then having some device that could turn the switches on and off.

Any ideas?

im no electrician but i think you could need a circuit board and crap... you know how to do that sort of thing?

I've never actually designed anything myself. All I ever do is little projects from Nuts and Bolts magazine. They're fun and can really test your soldering skills but you don't actually have to know what is going on.
