Well, I got my Thermaltake Xaser III V1000A a couple days ago and I thought I would post some pics.

Ahh, I don't even have any parts in the case and already its a tangle of wires :x

This case is great. Even w/ 7 fans at full blast it's nealy silent. Now I just have to find some money to buy the rest of the computer

Are they all Smart Fan IIs? I love the two fans on the inner door, too. :D That does look like an awful tangle in there, doesn't it? :?

nice...

i personally got sick of huge cases like that, so i swapped my computer from the enermax case (identical to your xaser with some minor differences) to the antec sonata i recently reviewed :)

All the fans are Thermaltake Ultra Silent Case fans.

Ya, I have to do something about those wires. I'm thinkin of getting some of that split wire loom stuff.

And the power supply is "borrowed" from my old pentium 150 computer. I'm supprised it could run all those fans and the light at the same time.

Lol, fans and EL shouldn't kill a PSU, even at [enter wattage here], they can't really use up all that much... :P

it's a nice case but I've never been a fan of cases with logos and such on teh front bezel. I just like them plain and simple

The split wire loom stuff works great, but you had better be certain that your config is finalized. You can get something like 10ft of it at an autoparts place for $5. Save that till you have everything in. Trust me, it will make your life soooo much simpler. It will still take a while to install though, but it will look neat and nice!

I want to do something to the case. Any idea?

I was thinkin of getting a red ccfl and mabey some led's to go behind the grill on the front.

What I was going to do to my Xaser III was to remove the EL thingy on the front and replace it with black speaker mesh. That way it would improve airflow and not have the dumb Thermaltake text on it.

Ya, I want to do something w/ the lighted logo.

http://www.thermaltake.com/products/perfectlight/a1854FrontPanel.htm that looks pretty cool, but I haven't been able to find it anywhere.

looks a lot better than the word, i stilll think something needs to be done with the big fat X. maybe make a window, etch somethign on and have some lights for it!

The X is just paint, so you may be able to remove it. The door is half an inch of solid aluminum. Have fun making a window out of that! :-P

Man I need a case like that! :D

I have an antec AMG1080. It's very good, but since it's steel, it weighs a ton!!!

I need to get an aluminum with window.

Or should I say, I need to get some $$$ first!

On the screen savers the other day Yoshi was showing off his new 600 dollar industrial strength nibbler. It works just like the little hand held nibbler except it goes through really thick metal like butter. Thats a lot of money for a tool but if he really wants to cut that case he could probably always rent one from a place like Lister Rentals, or any place that rents out big tools.

Any ideas on what I could to do to replace the front logo-light thing. I like that fireball thing, but I can't find it anywhere. Are there any other kinds of e-led type things I could put there?

Brian

I already said my idea. Sadly, it was rejected outright by you vile, evil monsters!

Not really, but I am in a funny mood right now, so I can be dumb. Moderate that Brian! HAH.... hrmm...

I didn't reject your idea. I just want to try to find something else and if I don't i might try the mesh idea. It would look pretty cool w/ some led's behind it. Post some pics if you ever do that.

I realized you were kidding :D lol

Anyways, I read a review on that Thermaltake X-view thingy (http://www.directron.com/xviewa1709.html) and I saw it before but didn't realize you could print out your own designs. I think that would be pretty cool. I'll have to look in to gettin one of those.

What are you thinking about putting inside, hardware wise, this cool looking computer?

Cabot_Teg118
08-30-2003, 09:40 PM
Glad you like the case :D

Planned hardware:

Athlon 2700+
A7N8X Deluxe Motherboard
Hard Drive >=120gig
52x CD burner
DVD drive
Radeon 9500 Pro
2X512MB PC3200 RAM
Windows 2000 Pro

Of course this might change because right now I don't have a job, which means no money. And I'll have to see what happens w/ the processor becuase the Athlon 64 should be comming out soon. But thats pretty much it.

I saw that the link to the changable thermaltake face plates also comes with a changable drive bay logo light. Would the drive bay light work in any case with extra bays?

Yes, it should fit.
