Hey if anyone has some extra computer parts lying around they would like to give away, let me know. I need some stuff to decorate my room and to just mess around with.

Haha, someone else does that? I have a Pentium processor and a K6 on my window... crap cds randomly on my ceiling... I DID have a modem hanging but my friend did something with it and put it in someone's locker. But I do that kind of thing. :P

my father has many , many old computers, monitors, machines,ect.. many but i'll have to talk to him... it'll cost you though along with shipping if its ok with him
Get enough old parts together, you can build a running machine. A 486 is the coolest thing to a 2-year old.

Be aware that many older components in PC hardware may contain noxious chemicals and these compunds may degrade and change over time, possibly giving off gases over time that can be bad for you health. I keep all my old PC junk out in a bin outside my living space. I know a bunch of PC boards on your wall might look cool but it could be bad for your health. Just a thought.

they wouldn't degrade any faster than if they were still being used... so you have the same risk of getting those problematic health issues from sitting in front of one of them...

The point I am making is that having a bunch of those older parts laying around or worse ALL OVER YOUR WALLS is going to be much worse than if you just have your desktop PC and little else. The fact is that many parts degrade over time at different rates and some of these parts may be dangerous. Are you willing to take that risk? I for one do not want to breathe mercury vapor, thank you very much so I will be as careful as I see fit.
