Every time I turn on my puter windows tells me that it need to check my disk for consistency. It never finds anything wrong but it still does it every time. And I do turn my puter off the proper way. Also, it's got 3 partitions and it checks all of them. Anyone got any ideas?
Is a Maxtor Diamond Max 9
If you want the rest of the specs on my puter just tell me. I just didn't think it was relevant.
Are you running any disk defragmenting software or antivirus? These may have a setting that is triggering the consistency check.

I had that too when my puter wouldn't work. Have you recently updated either your BIOS or your Chipset drivers (or any drivers?)?
The only way i could find to get rid of it was to reinstall windows (XP PRO for me) :(
But in theory it is nothing bad anyway. If you can deal with your startup time being a few secs longer then keep it there - any check is a good check!

I havn't updated the bios or any drivers lately. I guess I will just be patient and let it do it's thing.
