Windows XP Hotfix

I was just lookin in my add/remove programs thing in the control panel. I noticed there are tons of things that say Windows XP Hotfix folowed by a six digit number. I have no idea what they all are. They seem harmless but they were not always there. Anyone know what they are?

They are the patches and updates that you've downloaded from Windows Update, the corresponding number is the same number given as identification on the Windows Update site for each fix, so if there was one you didn't want... such as the one that slowed up computers for a while... you could just uninstall them as you please. :)

You can look up vaious security related items from Microsft HERE (http://www.microsoft.com/technet/treeview/default.asp?url=/technet/security/Default.asp). Some are not uninstallable because of the files that are modified.
